Assassin’s Creed Creator Reveals Witchcraft Action Game 1666: Amsterdam

Patrice Désilets and Panache Studios have revealed their second game, 1666: Amsterdam. This new action game lets players control a witch in the titular city on a hunt for demonic creatures disguised as humans.
Players control Noa Brooklyn, who is living in Amsterdam, which is inhabited by entities called The Originals. These long-living creatures have accumulated and abused their power, but it’s up to Noa to take that power back due to her role as a hunter of sorts called a Collector.
To do that, Noa uses magic to expose and destroy the demonic Originals in an open-world Amsterdam. The Originals resemble normal humans, so it takes a keen eye and plenty of magical tricks to locate them. Noa will have help from 300 years in the future in the form of Aaron, a person hailing from 1999 who is transported back in time and occupies the body of a black cat. And yes, it looks like you can control Aaron in his feline form.
1666: Amsterdam is Panache’s first title since its debut, 2019’s Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. Désilets took the Summer Game Fest stage to reveal that the game is launching into Early Access later this year, and that players can download a free playable prologue today on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
