Gen Atlas, The Next Game By The Director Of Ico And Shadow Of The Colossus, Has A New Trailer

GenDesign, the studio led by Fumito Ueda, director of Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian, has revealed a new trailer for its next game, previously codenamed Project Robot. The mysterious title that first debuted at The Game Awards 2024 is officially called Gen Atlas.
Gen Atlas is described as a single-player, open-world action-adventure game. The trailer features copious amounts of giant robots, both active and derelict, on a desolate planet. In a big surprise, the protagonist wields various firarms used to blast enemies in third-person shooter combat, a first for a Ueda game. The trailer also shows the character scaling a giant robot and piloting one of its massive heads.
A press release for the game provides the following synopsis:
Without knowing why, you awaken on an abandoned planet.
Before you lies a vast, silent world. Colossal structures stretch over endless plains, deserted facilities, and an ever-changing sea. The remnants of some grand design litter the planet’s surface.
As you journey deeper into this strange world, a colossal robot awaits. Its overwhelming power opens paths to places once beyond reach, transforming your conception of the world.
Across an endless expanse of time, the remnants of those forgotten constructs begin to move once more…
Gen Atlas has no release window, but it will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and, because Epic is publishing the game, exclusively to the Epic Games Store on PC.
