Konami Announces Rhapsody In Scarlet, Bringing Urban Fantasy Action To NYC

Today’s State of Play was mostly full of updates on existing games, but Konami came in for a back-to-back block to show off one lesser-known project, Rev Noir, and reveal another one entirely. Rhapsody in Scarlet is a game about a magical singer fighting flashy monsters in the streets of New York, and you can check out the reveal trailer below.

“Set in the jazz-filled streets of 1920s New York, magus Ellie Myers embarks on a journey to confront a threat that could shake the world,” the trailer’s YouTube description reads. In the reveal footage, we see her unleashing huge, screen-spanning magical attacks alongside the help from some magical beasts, who she refers to as Sköll, Balhut, and Thunderbird. The whole trailer is set to a jazz song that it seems like Ellie is singing.

Konami promises to show more of the game at today’s Konami Press Start showcase, which airs at 8:00 AM PT/ 11 AM ET on September 3, just a few hours from the time of publishing.
